1. Subhas Chandra Bose was tortured to death by the British.

In G.D. Bakshi’s book, Bose: The Indian Samurai – Netaji and the INA Military Assessment, he claimed that Netaji didn’t die in a plane crash, but the crash was rather a theory floated by the Japanese Intelligence agencies to facilitate his escape to Soviet Union. It was in the Soviet Union that Bose was interrogated by the British and was tortured to death.

2. Nanda Devi may be radioactive.

In 1965, a CIA team lost a plutonium powered sensing device at the peak of Nanda Devi which it was trying to install to spy on China’s nuclear tests. The expedition had to leave the device due to an extremely horrifying blizzard. When the team returned to resume their work in May 1966, nothing was found, including the stock of plutonium.

3. An Indian was the first to fly an airplane before the Wright Brothers.

Shivkar Bapuji Talpade was an Indian scholar who is said to have constructed and flown an unmanned airplane in 1895, eight years before the Wright Brothers. His craft, Marutsakha flew unmanned for a few minutes and then came down. After the British Government came to know about this incident, a company called Relay Brothers supposedly met Talpade and asked for the design and his notes of aeroplane, and promised to help him financially to take his project further. The project didn’t take off.
